When and how do words expose the misalignment and manipulation we undergo as a culture and individuals? How does the shift of context, and meaning inform language we see and speak? I photograph these landscapes with text for their ironies, juxtapositions, and historical nature.

A week after George Floyd's murder, I went to Minnesota to photograph, highlight, and find the truth. I had a couple of questions throughout and before my trip: what conversations do people have post-protest? Who photographs the aftermath? What is the mainstream media portraying versus how do people in the actual city feel? I aimed to fill in the blanks, capture the spaces between and shed light on the human experience. I learned that to find the truth, you have to put your body in the place you seek it.
