WHO, TOLD, YOU interrogates the unstable space between what is said, what is heard, and what is repeated. Pulling from a lived experience of hearsay, I repeatedly screen print the same three words directly onto the gallery wall: WHO TOLD YOU, YOU TOLD WHO, and WHO YOU TOLD.
As the words are reordered, the language shifts between a question, an accusation, and a statement. Through repetition, information begins to detach from its source and its authority becomes unstable. The work asks a deceptively simple question: Who do we believe, and why?
